What happens during Premature Aging?
Aging is caused by a combination of factors, all of which are accelerated by sun exposure. While the effects aren’t entirely visible in early wrinkling skin, they are nevertheless apparent:
- Sunlight (UV radiation) causes photo-aging.
- Related DNA damage
- Skin cells that have stopped dividing (stagnant)
- Chronic inflammation
- Collagen-destroying enzymes overproduction
Signs of Premature Aging
While the deeper wrinkles and visible sagging of aging skin will not appear for a few years, you can observe early signs of aging and accelerated aging.
Degeneration of the skin’s surface, along with fine lines that start to appear in your twenties and thirties, as well as a loss of radiance in the skin. Dark circles and early onset hyperpigmentation are two additional telltale signs of aging.
Fortunately, now is the ideal opportunity to begin rejuvenating and preventing deterioration.
